Spring and Summer Monthly Competition Rules (all Open Class)

1. Competition will be held in Divisions: 
                          1. Flowers   2. Vegetables and Fruits  3. Arrangements 
2. All entries in Division #1 and #2 must have been grown and tended by the exhibitor six weeks prior to being shown. 
It must be his or her exclusive property. 
3. An exhibitor may enter a maximum of five (5) entries each month in Divisions #1 and #2. All five (5) entries may be in flowers 
alone or vegetables alone. A split combination of three (3) entries in flowers and two in vegetables or any other combination is 
acceptable. Entering more than 5 total entries in Division #1 and #2 will cause only the 5 lowest scoring entries to be counted. 
4. An exhibitor may enter a maximum of two (2) entries each month in Division #3. Plant materials need not be grown by the 
exhibitor, but the arrangement must be made by him or her. Dried or preserved materials may be used, but may not constitute the 
entire arrangement. 
5. Entries in Divisions #1 and #2 which are grown in a greenhouse or under lights may be exhibited in Open Class only. Only one 
entry per month. Tags must be marked “Greenhouse Grown” or “Grown Under Lights.” 
6. Containers for vegetables and fruits will be furnished by the Men’s Garden Club of Villa Park; other containers must be furnished 
by the exhibitor. 
7. Points shall be awarded as follows:

                                                           3rd                          3 points 
                                                       Honorable Mention        1 point 
8. Points will be tallied each month. Major award trophy points will be cumulatively tallied throughout the competition. 
The final tally will determine the award winner. The Awards will be given at the Awards Night Dinner. 
9. Both parts of the entry tag must be filled in, especially the lower stub, with the entry identification, so that proper credit to the 
division entered can be given. 
10. When in the opinion of the Committee it would serve the best interest of the Club, the above rules may be amended.

*“Juanita” Dahlia entered will be
considered for Sledz Award.

**Marigold - large 1 stem, small 3 blooms, best to receive Don Frega Award.
